For Students

1. Content Creator (Volunteer)

Type: Volunteer | Remote

About the Role:
Help us share science with the world! As a content creator, you'll make engaging posts, short videos, infographics, or stories for IBSA's social platforms and campaigns.

  • Create Instagram/LinkedIn content (reels, carousels, etc.)
  • Assist with templates for science communication
  • Coordinate with writers and designers

Eligibility: Anyone creative and passionate about learning and sharing science. No experience needed—just effort and consistency!

2. Graphic Designer / Illustrator (Volunteer)

Type: Volunteer | Remote

  • Design visual templates for social media and posts
  • Illustrate concepts in astrophysics and general science
  • Create covers, banners, and visual elements

Eligibility: Open to all with an interest in design and storytelling. Portfolio (even student/personal work) appreciated but not required.

3. Science Writer (Astrophysics or General Science)

Type: Volunteer | Remote

  • Write engaging summaries on recent discoveries, concepts, or events
  • Collaborate with design and strategy teams
  • Translate technical ideas into simple language

Eligibility: You must be from a science background (high school and above). Prior writing experience helpful but not required.

4. Content Strategy Manager (Volunteer)

Type: Volunteer | Remote

  • Plan and manage IBSA’s content calendar
  • Coordinate with creators and writers
  • Suggest series, campaigns, or outreach strategies

Eligibility: Anyone organized with an interest in science communication, media planning, or brand strategy. Students welcome.

For STEM Professionals

Advisory Board Member (Journal Oversight)

Eligibility: Established researchers (10+ years experience, or institutional credibility)

  • Advise on scope, standards, and policies
  • Recommend editorial practices and engagement
  • Help attract quality submissions and collaborators
